DEVONPORT STRIKERS V’s SOMERSET SHARKS

The Striker boy’s arrived in style ready for the match against Somerset.

The game got underway, and Somerset caught the Devonport defence slow to start & scored early in the game.

However Devonport had an answer for it & Matt Smith, with perfect timing to meet a cross, placed the ball into the top corner but Somerset’s defender jumped in the way and was penalised for handball.

Smith took the penalty himself to score his second for the season blasting it home. Soon after, Adam Gorrie slotted one from outside the box into the bottom corner o give the young Strikers a 2-1 lead.

No more goals were scored in the second half. And Devonport’s defence proved too good for Somerset strikers and didn’t allow them score again.

Both Somerset and Devonport played well.
